BECOMING CATHOLIC

If you’re an adult living in the New Orleans area who would like to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and/or Eucharist, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) process is designed to serve you. We can answer any questions you may have about becoming Catholic, or about the Christian Faith in general.

RCIA provides a systematic, reasonable, and respectful presentation of authentic Catholic belief and practices: what we believe, why we believe it, and how this belief is lived and made visible in our lives and in the world.

In addition to instruction, adults who desire admission to the Catholic Church will be led through a program of spiritual preparation to ensure their readiness to receive the sacraments of initiation.

The weekly time commitment for RCIA is ninety minutes of instruction and discussion.

There is no charge for RCIA materials or instruction. If you or someone you know is in the inquiry stage about the Catholic Church, Monday, Sept. 11, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. is the starting date of the RCIA process at St. Patrick’s and the best place to have your questions answered.
