Christmas Flowers for the High Altar

Envelopes for the annual giving of flowers to be placed on the high altar during the Christmas season are now available in the vestibule. Once completed the sealed envelope can be placed in
the collection basket, or hand delivered to the rectory office before Monday, December 11, 2017.

St. Patrick’s Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule

The church will be open only during the scheduled Masses on Thursday and Friday. The rectory office will close on Tuesday, Nov. 21 and reopen on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017.

Volunteers are needed for Synod

A request for volunteers to oversee the implementation of the 9th General Synod is being announced. Specifically we need an “Overall Parish Liaison” and volunteers to be coordinators for the following four issues; Vocations; Family Life; Social Justice; Evangelization.
Those interested in volunteering should be parishioners in good standing with the Catholic Church and of high moral values with a vested interest in the implementation of the 9th General Synod. Volunteers are asked to contact the Parish Office:

Father Ian Bozant – Parochial Vicar of St. Patrick’s Church

This weekend we welcome Fr. Ian Bozant as Parochial Vicar of St. Patrick’s Parish.

Fr. Bozant was born a triplet to Bruce and Dorine Bozant on June I, 1988. He and his two sisters Heather & Dominique grew up in Chalmette and attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor Parish and School.

From seventh grade until his senior year, Fr. Bozant attended Holy Cross High School. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina’s destruction forced the evacuation of the Bozant family from New Orleans, with Fr. Bozant completing his prep schooling at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. He continued his education at Villanova University; St. Joseph’s Seminary College and Notre Dame Seminary.

While completing his studies at Notre Dame Seminary, Fr. Bozant was a frequent visitor to St. Patrick’s often assisting at Sunday Mass.

Next Sunday, July 9, 2017 after the 9:30 a.m. Mass, there will be a reception in Reynolds Hall and the adjacent courtyard, so that all of St. Patrick’s parishioners and friends can personally welcome Fr. Bozant to our parish as parochial vicar. Everyone is cordially invited.

St. Patrick’s Respect Life Group

St. Patrick’s Respect Life Group prays a rosary on the 4th Saturday of each month at 9:00 A.M. on the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood Abortion Facility on South Claiborne Avenue between Cadiz Street and Jena Street. The next rosary is May 27, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. Everyone is invited to pray with us.

May Crowning – Sunday, May 14

The May crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary will take place next Sunday on Mother’s Day, May 14, 2017, at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. All children who will participate in the crowning should arrive at 9:15a.m. and assemble in the vestibule. Everyone is encouraged to bring flowers and place them near the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
