The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is offering a series of nine bulletin inserts to help in implementing a new translation of the Roman Missal, Third Edition, which will be the official liturgical text for the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church, starting the First Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2011. These inserts, which will soon be found inside of the Sunday bulletins, will cover the following topics:

• Parts of the Mass
• Guide to unfamiliar words in the Mass
• Questions about the new Roman Missal
• Liturgical participation
• Praying with body, mind, and voice
• Reclaiming the Lord’s Day: Celebrating Sunday
• Liturgy and life
• Questions on dealing with change in the Liturgy

Saint Patrick’s Respect Life Group will pray a rosary in front of Louisiana’s largest abortion facility, on the corner of Ridgelake Drive and 20th Street in Metairie, Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. Everyone is invited!

Following the 5:30pm Mass; St. Patrick’s rectory. Door prizes to be awarded! Please bring a dish or dessert to share, beverages will be provided. The Triumph of the Holy Cross is the anniversary of The Apostolic Letter Summorum Pontificum of the Sovereign Pontiff Benedict XVI, which came into effect on 14 September 2007, giving universal permission for the Tridentine Latin Mass.
A special 5:00 p.m. Tridentine Latin Mass will be said at St. Patrick’s followed by Confession until 7:00 p.m.
