The May crowning of the Blessed Virgin May will take place on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the 9:30a.m. Mass and 11:00a.m. Mass.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans will celebrate the annual Mass for Vocations on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Cathedral. Archbishop Aymond will preside. All priests, sisters, brothers, deacons and people of the Archdiocese are cordially invited to attend. Seminarians, women and men in formation for consecrated life and diaconate candidates will join together in thanking God for their vocation. The Catholic Foundation is seeking nominations for the Pope John Paul II Award. The award is presented annually to an outstanding Catholic layperson(s) or permanent deacon who resides in the Archdiocese of New Orleans and who exhibits inspirational examples of Christian stewardship. This year’s award will be presented at The Catholic Foundation’s Annual Dinner held at the Hilton Riverside on Friday, November 18, 2011.
Award nominees should be a practicing Roman Catholic with an outstanding record of volunteer service in the Catholic Community; high moral character; and exemplary values. Nominations must include the name of the nominee, or nominees if nominating a couple, as well as his or her address, telephone number, resume and letter(s) of recommendation. A nomination form is available on The Catholic Foundation website (www.archdiocese-no.org/catholicfoundation). Nominations should be no longer than three pages in length.
