Crusade for the Conversion of Greater New Orleans

9:00 a.m.—12:00 p.m. Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, Confession, Novena and Holy Mass. All are invited.

The Archdiocese of New Orleans, through the CYO/Youth & Young Adult Ministry Office, will sponsor a trip to World Youth Day 2011 with the Holy Father in Madrid, Spain. This pilgrimage is for young adults age 18-35. This trip is a joint collaboration with the Dioceses of Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Alexandria.

A summer reading group has started meeting in the rectory every Monday at 6.30 p.m.  The group will be reading two related novels by Walker Percy: Love in the Ruins and The Thanatos Syndrome.  Participants must obtain their own book copies.  Everyone is invited to participate in the reading group.

The rectory office will be closed for Memorial Day.

Watson Copeland, Organise par Excellence, will present an organ recital of Hymns For Pentecost and Other Selections at St. Patrick’s Church, Sunday, May 23, 2010 at 2:30 pm. A reception in the rectory will follow the recital.

Saint Patrick’s Respect Life Group will pray a rosary in front of Louisiana’s largest abortion facility, on the corner of Ridgelake Drive and 20th Street in Metairie, Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. Everyone is invited!

Next week our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the assistance he needs to carry out his most important charitable works. Please be generous.

When Is Ascension 2010?

Ascension Thursday falls on May 13, 2010, and it will be celebrated on that day in the ecclesiastical provinces of Boston, Hartford, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, and the state of Nebraska.

In all other dioceses of the United States, the celebration of the Feast of the Ascension is transferred to the following Sunday, May 16, 2010.
