Farewell Reception for Mr. Andrew Mills

It is time to bid farewell to Mr. Andrew Mills, organist and choir director, as he leaves St. Patrick’ Church. The clergy, parishioners and friends of St. Patrick’s are gratefully for the seven years that Mr. Mills has spent at St. Patrick’s, enriching every Mass and solemnity with liturgical music that he so brilliantly played and which was beautifully sung by the St. Patrick’s choirs that he taught.
A reception will be held in the rectory this Sunday, January 29, 2017 after the 9:30am and 11:00am Masses. Everyone is cordially invited.

Rock n Roll New Orleans Marathon – February 5

On Sunday, February 5, 2017 the Rock N Roll Marathon will be holding its run in the business district near St. Patrick’s Church. Access to St. Patrick’s Church will be limited from 6:00 a.m.—11:00 a.m. that morning.

1. Copies of the St. Patrick’s Church Access Pass to be placed on the dashboard of your car, along with important instructions to gain access to St. Patrick’s Church on Sunday, February 5, 2017 are available in the vestibule.

3 Please read carefully as the instructions and routes vary for each morning Mass.

The Mass schedule at St. Patrick’s on Sunday, February 5, 2017 will remain the same: 8:00 a.m.; 9:30 a.m.; 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
In addition, an 8:00 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church with ample parking on the enclosed and secure lot that surrounds the church buildings. Easy access to the secured parking lot is through the gate located on the South Rampart St. side of the church.

St. Patrick Respect Life Group

St. Patrick’s Respect Life Group prays a rosary on the 4th Saturday of each month at 9:00 A.M. on the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood Abortion Facility on South Claiborne Avenue between Cadiz Street and Jena Street. The next rosary is January 28, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. Everyone is invited to pray with us.

Worldwide Marian Movement of Priests – A Marian Cenacle with Fr. Laurent Larroque

The Laity Cenacle conducted by Fr. Laurent Larroque (International Director of the Worldwide Marian Movement of Priests), will include:
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with Rosary and other prayers. There will be reading of excerpts of the messages from the book “To the Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons”
Consecration of any babies in the womb, young children in the arms of their mother.
Procession with statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary with all priests present making their Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the foot of the statue.
Holy Mass during which the laity will make their Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart.

Louisiana Life March South – January 21

Meet at old state capitol in Baton Rouge.

Life March South activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. with pre-event remarks and program at Galvez Plaza behind the Old State Capitol.  The March for Life will begin at 10 a.m., concluding at or near the State Capitol at 10:45 a.m. At that time, the formal program of the event will begin.
Life March South is sponsored by Louisiana Right to Life, Louisiana Baptist Convention, Louisiana Conference of Catholic Bishops, United Pentecostal Church of Louisiana, Louisiana Family Forum, the Knights of Columbus, Baton Rouge Right to Life, the Susan B. Concert of Sacred Choral Music at St. Patrick’s – January 22

The Christology of the Church: A Historical and Dogmatic Examination

Dr. David Liberto, a professor of Dogmatic and Historical Theology at Notre Dame Seminary, will present a lecture series entitled The Christology of the Church: A Historical and Dogmatic Examination. The series will run for four successive Thursday evenings.

In Memory Of – Closing Date – January 9

Names are still being accepted for the 2017 In Memory Of listing on the back of the weekly Sunday Bulletin. Envelope forms, found in the vestibule of the church, should be completed and returned to the rectory office no later then Monday, January 9, 2017. Once completed the sealed envelope can be placed in any Mass collection basket or hand delivered to the rectory office.
