World Mission Sunday, organized by the Society of the Propagation of the Faith, is a day set aside for Catholics worldwide to recommit themselves to the Church’s missionary activity through prayer and sacrifice.
During this year’s 90th anniversary, World Mission Sunday celebration relates its theme to the Year of Mercy, “Mercy Changes the World.” Pope Francis notes, “The mercy of God is His loving concern for each one of us…. As the Father loves, so do His children. Just as He is merciful, so we are called to be merciful to each other.”.
Your ongoing support of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith is vital to the missionaries serving in 1,111 dioceses throughout Asia, Africa, parts of Latin America and Europe, and on the Islands of the Pacific. Your generosity makes it possible for local priests, religious, and catechists to reach out to communities, families and children in desperate need, bringing the light of Christ to the darkest of circumstances.
The second collection this weekend is dedicated to the World Mission Collection. Pease be generous.
