WASHINGTON—Catholics worldwide are asked to mark the sixtieth anniversary of Pope Benedict XVI’s ordination to the priesthood with sixty hours of Eucharistic prayer for vocations.
The pope will celebrate his anniversary June 29, the Solemnity of St. Peter and Paul. In honor of his anniversary, the Vatican Congregation for Clergy suggested Catholic clergy and faithful be invited to participate in Eucharistic Adoration with the intention of praying for the sanctification of the clergy and for the gift of new and holy priestly vocations.
Dioceses nationwide are planning special prayers before the Blessed Sacrament in June, offered continuously or across various days in the month. Celebrations might conclude July 1, the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the World Day of Prayer for Priests.
You can download a prayer card for priests here.

This weekend we support the Holy Father in his charitable works. The Peter’s Pence Collection is taken up worldwide to support the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and natural disasters and others in need of emergency assistance. Pope Benedict XVI has said, “It is necessary above all that every person be motivated by the authentic spirit of peace” (Homily, January 1, 2011). Cast the peace of Christ upon the world—please be generous in today’s Collection.

If you’re coming to the 9:30am Mass this weekend, you can print out the Proper Prayers of the Mass, provided courtesy of Una Voce Orange County. We will usually print these out for you, but if you want you can bring your own. This guarantees that you’ll have a copy, plus right now our printer is down.
You can also download the music sheet here.
St. Patrick’s churchgoers are allowed to park in the Firestone Complete Auto Care lot at 800 Camp Street during all of the weekend Masses, courtesy of Firestone. However, if you do park in the lot, please park ONLY between the yellow lines that mark the well-defined parking spaces. Also, do not use the handicapped zone even if you have a handicapped designation on your vehicle. Vehicles not correctly parked at the Firestone Auto Care lot will, and must be, towed. Parking against the Firestone building and outside of the designated yellow lines is a violation of the fire regulations, and the fire department is now requiring Firestone Auto Care to have these vehicles towed.
The management of Firestone Auto Care is generously allowing St. Patrick’s churchgoers to use their auto lot for off street parking during the weekend Masses. Let us all be very careful in following their instructions.
