Watley, Executive Director Pastoral Services and Archdiocesan News Oracle Editor, has sent out a correction to an erroneous statement that was issued. “We want to make it clear that while Tulane University is free to sponsor any type of lectures they choose, the Archdiocese of New Orleans does not endorse, nor are we encouraging anyone to attend the lecture entitled Can They Do That? The Historical Justification for Women’s Ordinations.”

All Souls Day Envelopes

All Souls envelopes are now available in the vestibule of the church. The names of deceased loved ones should be recorded and the envelope delivered to the rectory office, or placed in a collection basket, before All Souls Day, Tuesday, November 2, 2010. The listed names will be remembered at all the Masses  celebrated that day.

Since the solemnity of All Saints falls on a Monday the precept to attend Mass is abrogated.

Father Victor Celio, O.P.

Fr. Victor Celio, O.P., who for the past several years, celebrated Mass at St. Patrick, passed away on October 19 in Pontchatoula, LA. Fr. Victor was recently assigned to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pontchatoula as Associate Pastor. Many of our parishioners and visitors were inspired by Fr. Victor’s services at St. Patrick, and quickly came to know and admire him. Fr. Victor was a Dominican missionary, who traveled to the Bahamas and Ecuador annually to administer to the people there, as well as to many other countries. Please remember Fr. Victor Celio, his family, the Dominican Community and all who mourn his death in your Masses and prayers. May God grant him eternal rest.
